Five suspects rob employees in Illovo

ILLOVO – Five suspects are wanted by Bramley police for their involvement in an armed business robbery which took place in Illovo.

 

Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela, spokesperson of Bramley police, explained that one suspect had a pistol while another was armed with a knife.

“A third suspect was also armed with a screwdriver and when the five [suspects] entered the premises, they ordered the victims [inside the building] to lie down,” Maphakela said.

Four of the suspects then took the complainant to another room where they ordered her to open the safe, an order she complied with.

Maphakela confirmed that the suspects stole between R6 000 and R10 000, a cellphone and earrings from the safe.

“The suspects also managed to make off with the other employees’ valuables during the robbery,” he concluded.

The case is under investigation.
