Crawford matrics achieve outstanding results

SANDTON - As the entire country expressed both elation and sadness at the release of the matric results, Crawford College Sandton celebrated another exceptional year of outstanding final results on 6 January.

 

Principal of the school, Moraj Rees said, “The release of the matric results is a highlight on the calendar at Crawford College Sandton. The Class of 2015 did not disappoint, and whilst our students celebrate their individual achievements, we would also like to congratulate the achievements of the Crawford Schools group.

“We are very proud of our students’ success and with it commend the teachers and parents who guided our students to reach their academic goals. Well done, Class of 2015.”

The school also achieved an outstanding 100 percent pass rate last year.

The day of the release saw pupils Genevieve Breckon and Mayuri Savary obtaining a staggering 10 distinctions each. Breckon, who is planning to study medicine at the University of Pretoria, earned distinctions in English, Afrikaans, mathematics, life orientation, advanced mathematics, history, information technology, accounting, life sciences and physical sciences. Savary earned incredible results in history, advanced mathematics, mathematics, physical science, English, Afrikaans, business studies, life orientation, information technology, accounting and life sciences. She is planning on studying actuarial science at the University of Cape Town.

Not far behind were Katherine Nel, Nina Petrovic and Shannon McErlean who all achieved nine distinctions. Daegan Naidoo, Gilad Shorer and Tracy Zhang obtained an impressive eight distinctions while Ahmed Khamis, Amber Liebmann, Caroline Thompson and Guy Elad earned seven distinctions.
