Residents invited to witness pole evolution

FOURWAYS – The iPole Dance Studio and South African Pole Fit Academy are inviting residents to watch the inaugural Pole Evolution competition taking place next week.

The competition will take place on 27 November at The Arena in Fourways and will see dancers take part in an exciting pole dancing competition.

Michelle Ben-Israel, founder of the Sandton-based studio, explained the aim of hosting the event.

“Our goal with the Pole Evolution competition is to make pole dancing a mainstream form of exercise and our reasoning for creating the event was to show pole dancing in the light that is should be seen in,” she said.

Ben-Israel added that the competition would include two categories, namely pole art, which focuses on pole dancing as an art and pole sport, which focuses on the stamina and flexibility side of the dancing.

She added that the finalists had already been selected and will compete either in the beginners, intermediaries and advanced categories.

It is also the first time the event is being hosted in conjunction with the Pole Fit Academy.
