Tatami throws competition off

KYALAMI – THE Tatami Judo Club brought home 11 individual medals in the South African Judo Championships which were held in Stellenbosch recently.

 

The club’s team members included pupils from Beaulieu Preparatory School, Bryneven Primary School, Bryanston Primary School, Japari School, Kyalami Preparatory School, Fourways High School, St Stithians College and St Davids Marist Inanda under the guidance of Sensei Basil Smith represented the Joburg Judo District.
Out of the 19 judoka that qualified, Tatami Judo brought home 11 individual medals.
Sensei Basil Smith was very proud of his judoka, emphasising that hard work and dedication does pay off!
Tatami Judo was started by Sensei Basil Smith in 2007 and trains on Monday and Wednesday evenings at Bryanston Primary School.
