Swimming grows from strength to strength at St David’s Marist Inanda

ILLOVO - The St David’s Marist Inanda swimming teams have enjoyed their most successful swimming season to date.

The pupil’s hard work, commitment and determination resulted in excellent performances at the Westville Invitational Gala and the Alan Burt 10 Schools Gala in KwaZulu-Natal.

This was followed by top achievements in Gauteng. At the Inter Catholic Annual Galas the A-team tied in first place with St Benedict’s College and the B-team won their gala.

The school went on to win the Gauteng Boy’s Inter High Relay Gala and then both the A- and B-teams won the Inter-High Individual Galas, with the C-team placed fifth in the B-Gala.

“This was a phenomenal achievement of which the swimmers can be justifiably proud of and with the best results in the 74 years of the school’s history,” said Carey Fisher-Gietzman of the school. “It is clear that swimming is growing from strength to strength in Gauteng schools, and we look forward to seeing some of the youth of today perform on the world stages of tomorrow.”
