Rescue unit – Licorish owner and girlfriend died on scene

Hartbeespoort Rescue Unit, who were dispatched to the accident scene involving Licorish Bistro owner Jacques Fourie and girlfriend Samantha Wilson, said the two passengers died before emergency services arrived on 9 November.

The Licorish Bistro is based in the Nicolway Shopping Centre in Bryanston.

Spokesperson for the Hartbeespoort Rescue Unit Loanne Louw confirmed that the accident involved a Mercedes-Benz Vito minibus and the two deceased were on a motorbike. According to a close family friend, who wished to remain anonymous, Fourie and Wilson were on the R512 when the minibus did an alleged illegal U-turn and caused the two victims to crash into the back of the car.

Louw said, “Emergency services were dispatched, but the two patients passed away before they arrived. The driver of the Mercedes-Benz did not sustain any serious injuries.”

She added that as of yet they have not established the exact cause of death.
