The Rosebank community speaks about the importance of Child Protection Week

Awareness of children's rights is raised to educate adults and children, alike, about the rights of minors.

The country observed Child Protection Week from May 29 to June 5. Rosebank Killarney Gazette took to the streets to ask people about the importance of the initiative.

Here is what they had to say:

Duduetsang Modiba: I feel like it is good because kids are being made aware of the wrong that even older people can do to violate their rights as kids.
Tshepang Rakgwale: You have rights and this helps all the kids who are living in situations that are abusive but they have no information on it. It is very important to keep teaching kids about their rights.
Malwande Nzimande: The initiative is very important, it raises awareness for children about the violation of one’s rights and not only older people can speak about rights but also children.
Nicoleen Ngobeni: The initiative is very important. Some of the kids are not enjoying going to school because they are being bullied but if a child knows more about their rights, they will be able to report that person.
