“Covid-19 restrictions took a while to be fully lifted which meant that most of our events in the first half of the year were again cancelled. We certainly made up for it in the second half of the year and our community was kept busy and kept us busy. There were numerous infrastructure developments and DSJ installed a generator which means that lessons are no longer interrupted.”

The headmaster added that the high school celebrated Cooper Mlokoti’s teacher of the month award.

He noted that he was proud to be part of a school with so rich a tradition.

“The DSJ prides itself as a forward-thinking school with a long tradition. I am proud and honoured to be part of an institution which combines innovation, adaptability and tradition by trying to implement the best out of two worlds, South Africa and Germany.”

Bachmeier concluded by wishing his staff and learners a happy and safe festive season.
