Parkview Library receives much needed makeover

After months of being closed, Parkview Library receives care from the PRA.

Online headline: Parkview Residents Association cleans up library garden.

Parkview Residents Association (PRA) park cleaning team dedicated themselves into cleaning up the grounds of the Parkview Library.
“After months of the library being closed during Covid-19 and with no attention to the gardens over that time, not to mention the play equipment and fencing which was in dire need of a fresh coat of paint, the PRA decided to intervene,” said Caryl Kelly, marketing and communications person for the association.

Mientjie van de Merwe, who heads the park cleaning team fondly known by the community as the Park Rangers, took her team and the association’s new lawnmower to the library to give the garden much-needed attention.

Parkview resident and owner of Top Paints Melville, Francois Burger, donated the paint that was required for the play equipment and fences at the library.

“Thankfully the grounds are looking much better and ready for the children to enjoy,” added Kelly.

The park is open to the public from 9am until 4pm on Mondays to Fridays.
