Joburg’s Region E records seven new Covid-19 related deaths

JOBURG – The region, which includes the suburbs of Alexandra, Wynberg, Sandton, Orange Grove and Houghton, has confirmed 320 cumulative deaths as of 27 January.

The Gauteng Department of Health has confirmed that Johannesburg’s Region E recorded seven additional Covid-19 related deaths in the last 24 hours.

As of 27 January, the region has confirmed 320 cumulative deaths and a total of 25 444 cases while 24 319 people have recovered from the novel virus.

The region includes the suburbs of Alexandra, Wynberg, Sandton, Orange Grove and Houghton.

Neighbouring region, Region B recorded three new deaths; bringing it to a total of 225.

The region has confirmed a total of 19 586 cases and 18 588 Covid-19 recoveries.

Suburbs in the region include Randburg, Rosebank, Emmarentia, Greenside, Melville, Mayfair, Northcliff, Parktown and Parktown North.

The City of Johannesburg has recorded a total of 152 733 cases and 144 400 recoveries, while 2 528 have lost their lives.
