The holiday season is upon us, and Joburg Tourism has made finding things to do in Joburg really simple.  

On the back of their ‘Welcome to Joburg – A city reimagined’ campaign, Joburg Tourism has made a list of their top 10 things to do and places to visit in Jozi while adhering to Covid-19 safety protocols at all times.

  1. City Sightseeing Red Bus Tours: Enjoy a family-filled and fun-packed day on the red bus. Visit some of the city’s most iconic places and learn about the rich history of Joburg at affordable prices.   2. Soweto: Said to be one of Mzansi’s most famous townships, it is known for being the place where Nelson and Winnie Mandela’s house stands, which has since been converted into a museum. Situated on Vilakazi Street, the most famous street in South Africa, it is also probably the only street which has been home to two Nobel Peace Prize Laureates, Nelson Mandela and Archbishop Emeritus, Desmond Tutu.   4. Hiking: Right in the heart of Joburg is the Melville Koppies Nature Reserve and heritage site. Take a hike and experience all its beauty and rich history. It is the last conserved remnant of Johannesburg’s ridges as they were before the discovery of gold in 1886. The vegetation of the Koppies is entirely indigenous.
