Paint the town gold with CHOC this Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

The awareness campaign aims to highlight and acknowledge the thousands of children, teenagers and families who are affected by childhood cancers.

The Childhood Cancer Foundation of South Africa (CHOC) would like to encourage the community to open their hearts this Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

The annual awareness campaign commemorated in September aims to highlight and acknowledge the thousands of children, teenagers and families who are affected by childhood cancers.

According to World Child Cancer Organisation an estimated 80 per cent of all childhood cancer cases globally occur in low and middle-income countries yet less than a third of children are diagnosed in these countries.

Of those that are treated, less than 20 per cent survive.

Members of the community are encouraged to support CHOC this month by purchasing an item or items from its Be Bold Go Gold merchandise collection.

“It is an opportunity for use to raise support, funding and awareness of childhood cancers and the impacts on those children, teenagers and their families,” said CHOC in a social media statement.

The merchandise can be purchased from your closest CHOC Regional office or alternatively online here
