Covid-19 infections in Joburg’s Region B rise to 5 277

JOBURG – The Region B includes Randburg, Rosebank, Emmarentia, Greenside, Melville, Mayfair, Northcliff, Parktown and Parktown North.

The Gauteng Department of Health has confirmed that Covid-19 cases in Johannesburg’s suburbs of Region B have reached 5 277 as of 14 July.

The region, which includes Randburg, Rosebank, Emmarentia, Greenside, Melville, Mayfair, Northcliff, Parktown and Parktown North, also recorded 2 650 recoveries.

Also in the northern suburbs, Region E recorded 7 802 cases and 3 094 recoveries.

Suburbs in Region E include Alexandra, Wynberg, Sandton, Orange Grove and Houghton.

The Johannesburg district recorded 48 314 cases and 23 075 recoveries while 278 people have lost their lives to the virus.

A total of 358 cases and 84 recoveries remain unallocated in the City of Johannesburg.
