Covid-19 cases in Region E rise to 3 800
JOBURG – The City of Johannesburg recorded 24 244 cases as of 2 July.
The Gauteng Department of Health has confirmed that the number of Covid-19 cases in Johannesburg’s Region E have reached 3 800 as of 2 July.
The region, which includes Alexandra, Wynberg, Sandton, Orange Grove and Houghton, recorded 1 156 recoveries.
Also in the northern suburbs of Johannesburg, Region B recorded 2 906 cases and 974 recoveries.
Suburbs in the region include Randburg, Rosebank, Emmarentia, Greenside, Melville, Mayfair, Northcliff, Parktown and Parktown North.
The city of Johannesburg recorded 24 244 cases and 8 215 recoveries while 115 people have lost their lives.
The district remains at the epicentre of the infections in the province.
