614 Covid-19 cases remain active in Region E

JOBURG – This amounts to an estimated 63 per cent recovery rate in Region E.

The Gauteng Department of Health has confirmed that 614 cases of Covid-19 in Johannesburg’s northern suburbs of Region E remain active as of 16 June.

The region, which includes Alexandra, Wynberg, Sandton, Orange Grove and Houghton, recorded 978 cases and 364 recoveries.

This amounts to an estimated 63 per cent recovery rate.

Also in the northern suburbs, Region B recorded 814 cases and 242 recoveries.

This translates to an estimated 70 per cent recovery rate.

Suburbs in the region include Randburg, Rosebank, Emmarentia, Greenside, Melville, Mayfair, Northcliff, Parktown and Parktown North.

The City of Johannesburg has confirmed 443 additional cases to 6 514, 1 988 recoveries and 47 deaths.

A confirmed 320 cases and 84 recoveries remain unallocated.
