Local hip hop artist Atlas drops new inspiring music album

JOHANNESBURG – It touches on the issue of substance abuse, police brutality and racism.


A Johannesburg-based hip-hop music artist, famously known as Atlas, has released his latest album that he said is aimed at exposing his fans to the many social ills of the world today.

Formally known as Mpho Sebogoe, Atlas said his album, The Frontier was released on 31 January and it featured 17 tracks of hip-hop songs infused with a bit of gospel.

The album was self-produced at his Static Quo Incorporation studios in Johannesburg and he said it featured two of his solo artists, Melodic and The Freedom.

“The album is unique and it stands out as a mouthpiece addressing the current lifestyle that many of the current generation of our people are subjected to in their lives,” Atlas said.

“It touches on the issue of substance abuse, police brutality, the racism that has engulfed our societies as well as the disturbing nature of xenophobia in various parts of our communities. Through this album, as an artist, I am also trying to shape the world into a better place to live and strive as human beings.”

It really serves as a chapter for social cohesion and Atlas added that anyone could listen to the album as it catered for all music lovers.

He said the album could be found on various media platforms including Google tracks, YouTube channel, Facebook and Instagram.
