Kate reaches for those bright stars abroad

BRYANSTON – From Bryanston to the international stage is actress Kate Louise Pascoe.

Having realised her dreams from the age of six, Pascoe is living it today. With a stunning theatre career to her name right here on home soil, she decided to spread her wings in 2016. She packed her bags and went to live out her dream in America.

“An opportunity came up to audition for the New York Film Academy, so I took the risk and was awarded a scholarship. “This was the moment that I realised this is my gift in life.” Living in Los Angeles (LA), she’s dabbled in the modelling world where she recently walked in LA Fashion Week.

She’s also writing a feature film which is set to go into production next year. With determination on her mind and her name in lights, Pascoe is passionate about her craft. “Being in LA I’ve realised it’s absolutely vital to create your own material, to keep developing your own vision and your own dream role.

Don’t wait for someone else to hand it to you because you might wait forever, so bring your dream towards yourself and hand it to yourself on a silver platter.” With a focus on Indie short films in Los Angeles, Pascoe has been the lead in a number of films with her best being Are You Really Gone, which she wrote, produced and also co-directed with Marielle Woods. The film scooped Best Indie Filmmaker at the Los Angeles Film Awards recently.

Happy to be doing what she loves, she describes it as a fantasy. “I am an actor; an artist portraying a magnified and heightened version of reality or fantasy in the physical form. “My own personal aim is to be a transformative actor so this would be to transform myself from Kate Louise Pascoe as the person into a recognisable, and different character from myself.” With a BA in Fine Arts from the New York Film Academy, she is well on her way to being the next Charlize Theron.

Her ideal dinner party guests would be Leonardo DiCaprio, Marina Abramovic and her grandfather. “He passed away when I was younger so this was before I could learn all of his wisdom, passion and understanding for this world. “He was a man that was truly respected, so I wish I could’ve really understood that on a personal level.”

She plans to continue her dream journey with as much passion as she started. “I want to create all that I have set out for myself and to never stop believing in the possibilities. “In this industry the words, ‘fall down seven times, stand up eight’, truly apply. “Being an actor takes patience, resilience and perseverance so in the future I hope and intend to make the difference that I envision.”
