24 Oct – Online auction site, JellyFishTree will be auctioning Captain Peter Digby’s rare book collection. Digby is physically well, but has relocated to a care facility. The very unusual books on early Johannesburg are sought after by collectors. Digby is best known as the author of Pyramids and Poppies, arguably the finest book on the South African forces in World War 1. Also on the auction are original paintings, drawings and ephmera. 27 Oct – Have fun and give back at the same time. Join the Linden community for the Jo’Burg Jol fun day to raise funds in support of the Mes Action Community school project. Every day over 75 hungry mouths are fed through this non-profit organisation. Bring the whole family and enjoy a full day of entertainment, food and drinks.
