UPDATE: Water outage in Killarney and surrounding areas

ROSEBANK – Joburg Water has advised that repairs could take longer than expected, depending on any issues during the repair.


Residents around Killarney, Houghton, Saxonwold, Parkview, Parktown North, Rosebank, and the Hyde Park are advised that a burst pipe has caused a water outage in the area.

According to a statement by Johannesburg Water today, 25 September, a big 750mm pipe burst is causing a water outage on the corner of  M1 and Glenhove. ” The system must be drained before welding. it is affecting Dunkeld, Hyde Park, Saxonwold, Parkwood, Forest Town, Illovo.

“Please note that the estimated time of restoration is 10pm this evening. We apologise for the inconvenience.”

Joburg Water has advised, however, that it could take longer, depending on any issues that arise during the repair. It will take about six hours to recharge the system.

“The pressure changes may cause secondary bursts and leaks. Please report these as soon as possible to the customer to Joburg Water.”
