CAP Security saves the day

SANDHURST– Police detained two suspects, thanks to CAP security.

Two suspects who were found in possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition have been detained by Bramley police the afternoon of 31 January as police are on the lookout for another suspect who escaped.

According to the spokesperson for the Bramley Police Station, Captain Molefe Mogodi, the CAP security reaction officers received information to be on the lookout for a vehicle allegedly involved in an armed robbery in the area. “The CAP Security officers while on patrol, spotted the vehicle which fitted the description of the wanted vehicle and then gave chase, until the vehicle came to a standstill somewhere in Sandhurst.”

Mogodi explained that the driver of the vehicle allegedly got out and surrendered. “He was then apprehended as the other two who were on foot allegedly began shooting at the security officer who returned fire.

“As a result, one of the suspects was shot and sustained injuries and was taken to the hospital under police guard.”

Mogodi stated that the two suspects are set to appear in court. “Police are, however, looking for the other suspect who escaped.”

CAP differs from other security solutions in that a fundamental facet to CAP’s crime-fighting solution is community involvement. They call for the community members to take an in-depth interest in the success and efficiency in the eradication of crime in its suburbs. Residents in each area support the initiative financially by contributing to their Public Space Scheme.
