Melrose Arch is currently hosting their annual Destination Christmas Lights campaign which showcases a spectacular array of bright, festive displays for everyone, young and old, to enjoy.
The lights were turned on at a special ceremony on Friday, 2 November, with performances by Yvonne Chaka Chaka and Loyiso Bala who entertained guests with their favourite hits and Christmas carols.
The annual event supports Melrose Arch’s selected charity, the Smile Foundation. – a South African NGO that assists children with any type of treatable facial abnormalities, such as cleft palate and lip, as well as burn victims and Moebius syndrome, to receive corrective plastic and reconstructive surgery.
“We are honoured to be the recipient of the Melrose Arch Destination Lights campaign,” said Hedley Lewis, CEO of the Smile Foundation.
“It is truly heartfelt to be a part of such a feel-good campaign bringing families and friends together, revelling in this wonderful festive experience. This event will undoubtedly bring many smiles into the hearts of those that take part in this festive occasion.”
All the events are free (with the exception of Vortex, the Young Rebel Recording Studio and Vino in Piazza). However, donations to the Smile Foundation, Melrose Arch’s selected charity, are welcome.
You can witness the lights and get all your festive fixes until 23 December.
