Mzansi celebs pop Moët champagne

WESTCLIFF – It was a memorable and bubbly evening at the Moët and Chandon Grand Day.

Moët and Chandon champagne hosted its annual Grand Day at Four Seasons Hotel in Westcliff on 9 June.

As the colour gold was the theme of the evening, South African A-list celebrities and fashion designers looked dashing in their classy and elegant outfits while sipping on delicious champers.

Val de Vie managing director, Simone Dewet explained what the event was about. “It’s all about the fabulous Moët tonight. And today is just fabulous like-minded people gathering and celebrating with bubbles and having a great time,” she said.

“The event takes place all over the world at the same time. Some people because of their time zones, are having Moët for breakfast or lunch, it’s amazing.”

It was lights, camera, action as celebrities worked the red carpet and engaged in a few media interviews before heading upstairs for some good music and a glass of Moët.

Popular TV presenter and actress, Boity Thulo said she has attended the event every year and it keeps getting better each year. “This is my fourth year and they up their game every year,” she said.

“I think the event is always classy, sophisticated and elegant. It is both fun and classy and you can add a little bit of misbehaviour and no one will notice.”

Some of the celebrities who attended were David Tlale, Aaron Moloisi, Kelly Khumalo, Lorna Maseko and Dineo Moeketsi.

South Africa’s Moët and Chandon champagne portfolio manager Patrick Leslie was excited about their vending machine that served ice cold Moët minis.

“Moët Party Day has become one of the most anticipated events on the Johannesburg social calendar, and this year’s glamorous experience once again paid tribute as to why Moët and Chandon remain the world’s most loved champagne.

“The evening was unforgettable, and we really showed the world how South Africa celebrates in champagne style.”

The event took place in 80 countries simultaneously. Many are eagerly anticipating the next event.
