Tyler Perry’s film, Acrimony, was released in South African cinemas nationwide on 29 March and opened with a total box office of over R2.8 million. The film ranked at number three on the weekend Top 10 for the period 30 March – 1 April and resulted in it having the biggest opening weekend for any Tyler Perry film released in South Africa.
The psychological suspense thriller is Perry’s latest offering and contains all the components needed for an unforgettable blockbuster. The film boasts a star-studded cast, featuring Golden Globe winner, Taraji P. Henson, who delivers a chilling lead performance as the scorned wife, whilst Lyriq Bent is a very convincing husband.
This nail-biting thriller takes moviegoers on a dark journey of revenge and betrayal and resonates with anyone who has been hurt, cheated on or betrayed.
