Catch the Afrikaans all-girl group, Saarkie performing at the Lions Emirates Park

JOBURG — Saarkie will be performing at the beer garden before the Cheetah vs Lions games.

After more than eight successful years in the music industry, Saarkie, described as the country’s favourite Afrikaans all-girl rock group, will be touring South Africa and promoting their new album, Queen Van Die Toorbos.

They will be performing in the beer garden before the Cheetah vs Lions games at the Lions Emirates Park on 14 October at 4.15pm.

The group performed at some of South Africa’s biggest music festivals such as Aardklop, KKNK, rabSt, Mieliepop and Inniebos from the very beginning. The group has also shared the stage with some of the country’s most famous artists like Karen Zoid, Francois van Coke, Die Heuwels Fantasties, Spoegwolf, Steve Hofmeyr, Kurt Darren, The Parlotones, Cindy Alter (Clout), Ballyhoo and many more.

This Ghoema- (Best Rock Album of the Year, Best Album by a Group or Duo, Group of the Year) and South African Music Awards- (Best Rock Album) nominated trio released the first single off the album, which has been very well received by the fans.

“We think audiences will like the song because it has a universal theme that anyone can relate to. It also has a catchy tune that invites you to get on the dance floor and sing along,” they said. They are also planning on releasing a music video for the single soon, which will include footage that was collected from all over the country.

Their performance at the Lions Emirates Park will be one of many live performances by the group as they are embarking on their country-wide tour to promote their anticipated album.
