The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe comes to the National Children’s Theatre

PARKTOWN – The play will centre around four children who enter a magical world through a wardrobe.

The National Children’s Theatre in Parktown will be presenting an inventive and highly original adaptation of the CS Lewis beloved children book, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.

The book is regarded as one of the best-selling books of all time and has been translated into 47 languages and adapted for TV, stage, radio and movies several times over. The version being used by the National Children’s Theatre was nominated for Best Family Show by the Off-Broadway Alliance Awards.

The story will focus on four adventurous Pevensie children, Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy, as they discover a tunnel at the back of a wardrobe which leads to a strange and wondrous place – a winter wonderland where animals talk, trees walk, and a witch rules the landscape.

Director Francois Theron will bring the inspiring magical story to life with the help of an outstanding cast. This famous classic is filled with memorable moments which are sure to keep the whole family entertained and enthralled.

The creative team includes artistic director Theron, costume and set designer Sarah Roberts, and lighting designer Mathew Lewis.

The cast will be led by Daniel Keith Geddes, Sandi Dlangalala, Nomonde Matiwane and Nieke Lombard.
The show runs until 15 October.
