Miss UniWorld South Africa Pageant is Bringing Glitz, Glamour and a whole lot of Goodwill.

JOBURG - "Our aim is to promote beauty from within, beauty with a purpose and beautiful people beautifying the lives of many."

Gauteng women have an opportunity to compete on a national stage in a pageant that seeks to find women with beauty and a whole lot of goodwill.

The UniWorld Pageant is an original South African concept with hopes of uniting the nation through diversity and empowerment.

This pageant will have two parts to it, one being a Miss UniWorld South Africa and an international event, Miss UniWorld. The other part is the Mrs UniWorld for married participants.

The winner of Miss UniWorld South Africa will get the opportunity to be an ambassador on a national and international level.

The target audience for an initiative such as Miss UniWorld is young dynamic ladies between the ages of 18 to 28, unmarried, no children, from all race groups, who have the ability to be ambassadors and youth leaders.

A statement from the organisation reads: “What makes the Miss UniWorld pageant different from the normal beliefs of pageantry is that we don’t focus totally on external beauty, modelling or a pretty face. Our aim is to promote beauty from within, beauty with a purpose and beautiful people beautifying the lives of many.”

The pageant also seeks to educate young girls on respecting themselves in various ways such as creating awareness on women’s rights and gender-based abuse.

The organisation encourages each finalist to use this platform to uplift the community and engage in youth programmes.

The Miss UniWorld has a social responsibility wing called the SHE Force Foundation, which aims to empower the youth through engaging in enriching programmes and supporting worthy causes.

The first Miss Uniworld SA Pageant will be staged at the Izulu Theatre at Sibaya in Durban on 23 September.

Applications are now open for contestants from all over the country.
