Twitter reacts to Monark’s new album
JOBURG – Five years since their debut in the music world.
With five years in the music industry and a second album on the way, Monark is making clear strides towards their musical goals.
Monark met City Buzz in 2015 – just two years after their debut track and one year since the release of their first album, Negatives.

Now, their new self-titled album, Monark, is available for purchase by their adoring fans.
The band explained that the album was influenced by West African music such as that produced by rapper Drake as of late, but also by the pop sounds of musicians The Chainsmokers, as well as classic sounds such as Michael Jackson’s Thriller.
This is not to say that they’ve lost their way or their sound – it’s the exact opposite because this album is more Monark than ever, hence the decision to name the album after the band.
Before we catch up with the guys, City Buzz wanted to check out Twitter’s reactions to the new album that dropped on 9 June.
