As a young composer Caroline Leisegang is taking over the world with her combination of local and Norwegian-style music.
The talented musician stunned the world when she released her first album of musical compositions, Oyeblikk, before reaching the age of 26.
“I think the response was really positive. People seemed to be quite enchanted by the first album and made it their own,” she commented.
Now, just one year later, she has come out with her second offering, Simple Circles.
The sound of her first album was a combination of her own local compositions, with a mix of the traditional Norwegian sound, which she derived from her Norwegian heritage – a facet of her life which she was described as being obsessed about.
Regarding her sound on the new album, she said, “I’m not so sure how to describe it. There’s space and movement, but the sound translates so differently to every listener,” she enthused.
The gifted musician had great success when writing the music for Simple Circles, explaining that she only worked on it for about six months – and quite inconsistently, too.
The six months of work translated into an ode to someone special. “It almost seems silly to say, but a person [inspired the album]. It was sort of my way of capturing how I saw them,” she explained.
With her feelings out in the open, she is now eagerly waiting to see how the music is perceived by listeners. “It’s not just my own personal experience [on the album]. My goal with my music is for each listener to make it their own, with their own story,” she pointed out.
So where can her music be found?
“I’m not entirely sure if I will perform it. I was thinking of hosting a listening evening, or maybe a small home soirée for friends. You can get it on all digital platforms, iTunes, Google Play and Amazon,” she concluded.
