Voice of Joburg: Man about town
MELVILLE – Meet Irfaan Abdoola, a lover of Johannesburg and its surrounds.
There are many characters to meet in the city and this person is quite fond of city life.
Walking through Melville, City Buzz encountered Irfaan Abdoola – a man about town. He is a resident of Midrand, but frequents the city in search of good times and great nightlife.
City Buzz asked the young socialite where he enjoys visiting when he is taking a trip around the city we love. “I love going to the Johannesburg CBD,” Abdoola said.
“There’s so much to do in Johannesburg when we go there, and my friends like the city too. That’s our usual hangout, really. There’s everything from food to art to drinks and a whole lot of weird things to see. There’s also some really weird and interesting people.”
When asked which venues are his favourite, he responded, “I love to go to Gold Reef City. Who wouldn’t love a place with so many rides? It’s a thriller. What’s best about it is that you get to let loose and it helps you get rid of your frustrations.
“I like Johannesburg Zoo. I’m an animal person, so I love to see those animals that you don’t usually encounter in your everyday life. It’s also a nice place to relax with my younger siblings.”
With this man, it’s all about relaxing places where one has a good time.
“I like to visit Zoo Lake with my friends. The atmosphere is very chilled and we get to sit and talk and enjoy each other’s company. I also have to say that the nightlife in Rosebank and Sandton are the best! Kong, Harem, Taboo and all the other clubs are good times for us. I like the music and the vibe.”
It’s almost guaranteed that if you visit the city, you will find this guy around, too.
