PARKVIEW – The Eyethu Woman invites the public to a flea market which will empower women.

A group of young entrepreneurs who call themselves The Eyethu Women, will host their first flea market at Zoo Lake on 29 October.

The four women who started the initiative said the aim of the flea market is to empower other women to be financially independent.

According to Danisile Msimango, co-founder of the group and social network administrator, the Grab A Friend To Support A Friend flea market will provide a platform for women from all walks of life to grow their businesses.

“We will have 42 stalls on the day,” said Msimango.

“[A total of] 12 [stalls] will be food and the rest will be clothes and shoes.” She said most of the items which will be sold are pre-owned.

The founders plan to host many more events of this nature.

“We are excited and up to the challenge to bring our business to life and to grow and be independent women.

“Do join us, we will have something for everyone.”

The flea market will be open from 7.30am to 6pm.
