Ezzy releases new song

Joburg – Ezzey aims to make a name for himself in the hip-hop world.

Born in Swaziland, local singer Mlandvo Landy said, “It all started with dancing and grew to a love of music and the rest is history.”

Landy, also known to his fans as Ezzey explained, “I started singing in 2004 when I was just 14 years old. My big break came when I entered a competition for the Times of Swaziland where I won first prize.”

Fortunately, Ezzey caught the eye of the queen of kwaito and Fresh Money Family Records executive, Nomasonto ‘Mshoza’ Maswanganyi who believed in his talent.

“I am featured with the queen of kwaito in a new banging single, Nobuhle. It is an honour for me to be working with her. My grassroots grinding has brought me to this position,” said the musician.

Ezzey moved to South Africa to pursue his career in music. “The Swaziland hip-hop scene is not as highly supported as compared to South Africa. When I met Mshoza she believed in me from day one. It was like a reunion and when I told her I was planning on staying in South Africa to pursue my music career, she decided to sign me onto her stable [record label] and said she wants Mzansi to hear my music.”

Ezzey is called the ‘prince of hip-hop’ in the Fresh Money Family Productions stable.

The Express asked Ezzey about the single, Nobuhle. “It speaks of a beautiful girl he loved, whose affections were not returned. It also tells the story of a boy in love. We all know that being emotional as a rapper and as men, in general, is frowned upon in society,” said Ezzey.

He hopes the single will do well and encourages people to download it. “As artists we ask Mzansi people to support our music. We have great talent right here and we can make them even greater.”

Details: Nobuhle is available on iTunes, Reverbnation, Amazon and Spotify.
