Powerful songstress lights up Bassline stage

NEWTOWN – Live @ The Bassline hosts Simphiwe Dana in Women's Month.

Celebrated around the world and adored for her impressive vocal prowess, Simphiwe Dana is an artist who employs a true cultural and African identity in her art form.

Dana will grace the Bassline stage in Newtown and will kick-start the second season of the popular Live @ The Bassline series.

Kaya FM 95.9 and Bassline are proud to present a new season, building on the success of the first series which saw an amazing range of stars and newcomers featured on this unique musical platform.

Leading up to Women’s Day, Dana is an integral voice in spearheading issues of interest within the social sphere.

With August being Women’s Month and Kaya FM’s 19th birthday celebrated simultaneously, there’s no more fitting artist to occupy the task of opening and setting the bar high for the new series.

With a string of acclaimed albums and live DVDs, having Dana back on the Bassline stage is a treat, especially following her recent release of Celebrating Ten Years Live at the Bassline album.

Her fans will be in for a musical alchemy that will see favourites from her critically-acclaimed fourth studio album Firebrand performed, as well as others from her previous albums.

If the first series was anything to go by, the second series will certainly pack a musical punch. Organisers have proved that music is a universal language and providing such platforms for live music is part of growing established and new talent. The Bassline, celebrating 22 years in music this year, will ensure safe parking and security, as well as reasonable ticket pricing, while still bringing the very best in music to the public.

Don’t miss out on this megastar’s return to the Bassline on 6 August.
