Foxwood House presents Born to Diva

HOUGHTON – Tanya Koenderman brings her one-man show to Johannesburg.

Cabaret artist Tonya Koenderman is in town with her new one-man show, Born To Diva.

Accompanied by Connie Bentlage on saxophone and keyboards, the show promises to be a musical feast with serial thrillers and gorgeous, dazzling costumes. Old favourites such as Tina Turner, Shirley Bassey, Bette Midler, Liza Minnelli, Nina Simone and Julie Andrews, to name a few, will all feature in the show.

Tonya will also add her own saucy touch to a couple of golden oldies such as Diamonds are forever, My baby just cares for me, Pata pata, Special star, Simply the best and a whole lot more. She will be adding her wicked sense of humour to her own reworked versions of All about that base and A few of my favourite things.

Critics have described the show as sizzling, captivating and top class cabaret. It has already been to Port Elizabeth, East London, Cape Town, George, Durban and Mauritius and has received standing ovations and rave reviews.

This month there will be two special performances for the people of Johannesburg on the 18 and 19 June. The performances will take place at 13 5th Street, Foxwood House in Houghton at 8pm and 3pm respectively.

The show on 19 June will be a special Father’s Day performance, with a buffet on offer at the Foxwood House Gardens and booking is essential.
