International sounds in Joburg

JOBURG - With 16 years of experience in the music industry, it is no wonder that Dan Patlansky is taking major strides in his music on an international scale.

After attaining international success last year, opportunities to see Patlansky in South Africa are occurring less and less, with the blues-rock guitarist returning to Europe shortly after his current Sweet Home Africa Acoustic Tour.

The acclaimed singer and guitarist released his debut album in 1999 and since then has not stopped making music to soothe the souls of his adoring fans worldwide.

Patlansky’s long-standing career has transcended South African boundaries, with the artist proudly performing with American music sensation Bruce Springsteen in 2014.

Now the heartthrob has returned to South Africa, for a short time only, for the Sweet Home Africa tour across the country.

The tour may have kicked off on 29 January, but you still have the chance to catch him live in Johannesburg at The Orbit jazz lounge and the Music Box.

Fans will be pleased to know that the singing sensation will be performing acoustic versions of his music from his albums 20 Stones, released in 2012; Wooden Thoughts, released in 2013; and Dear Silence Thieves, released in 2014.

Patlansky is also set to wow fans with acoustic versions of brand new songs from his new album set to be released in April this year, and covers of classic songs that the musical mastermind has reworked with a modern touch of blues and rock influences from the 30s until today.
