Eytys’ SS16 fashion campaign shot in Jozi

JOBURG - Eytys was founded by Max Schiller and Jonathan Hirschfeld and the company, which has over 200 stores worldwide, has amassed a cult following in the three years it’s been running.

The spring/summer 2016 collection (Eytys SS16), is fittingly called, Delicious. The photoshoot was styled by Cape Town-based artist-turned-stylist Gabrielle Kannemyer and photographed by local photographer and filmmaker, Kristin-Lee Moolman.

The Eytys’ SS16 campaign upholds the founders’ principles of a collaborative environment where campaigns and projects are energised through diverse visions and creative minds, by partnering up with local, artistic innovators.

In the shadow of the City’s deep political and economical challenges, a mesmerising creative scene is expanding. The campaign story features Eytys’ collection styled alongside collections by rising local designers such as Thebe Magugu, Rich Mnisi and Boyz’n’Bucks.

Moolman explained her inspiration behind the shoot. “We are constantly inspired by the contrasts found within this city, and more so by our friends and fellow creatives,” said Moolman.

However, she revealed that the photoshoot was a bit of a challenge due to the extreme weather Joburg has had lately.

“There was a heatwave in the city at that point in time. Other than that, the shoot went super well,” she laughed.

Moolman and Kannemyer are accustomed to working together and have a combined sense of reflecting contemporary youth culture with attitude, yet playfulness. Moolman has an ability to showcase youth in a raw and electric way while Kannemyer has a styling aesthetic which circles around layers, shapes and colourful textures.

“We love the work we did with the Eytys brand and feel like it celebrates real young South Africans,” concluded Moolman.
