Freddie has been reborn!

JOHANNESBURG – Queen fans will definitely want to book tickets to see the awesome Queen – It’s a Kind of Magic that’s rocking the Joburg Theatre until 7 February.

You don’t have much time, so you’d better get booking because, honestly, you don’t want to miss this.

Englishman Giles Taylor knocks a Freddie impersonation out of the water as he belts out Queen classics in a variety of accurate and dazzling costumes. He’s even comfortable enough to dress in drag, just like Mercury did, for the hit I Want to Break Free. His voice and showmanship on stage will make you feel like you’re at an original Queen concert.

He’s joined by an incredibly talented band, made up by Richie Baker as Brian May on guitar, who rips out a few seriously insane solo’s, Kyle Thompson as Roger Taylor on drums and Jozi resident Steven Dennett as John Deacon, slapping the bass guitar.

Each member of the show has taken their Queen role seriously, even going as far as to change their appearance slightly in order to represent the original band members accurately.

The lights and visual effects of Queen – It’s a Kind of Magic will blow you away as the stage lifts, revealing a hidden cove beneath. The entire experience will transport you back in time to where big hair and bright outfits were all the rage.

Performances are set to run each Thursday to Saturday at 8pm and Sunday at 3pm.

Ticket prices range from R160 to R350.
