Dainfern resident is TLC’s Next Great Presenter finalist

DAINFERN - Dainfern resident, Star Khulu is one of the finalists for the TLC Next Great Presenter competition and voting has begun on who will become the channel’s first-ever African presenter.

The Dainfern resident was born in Pietermaritzburg, bred in Bloemfontein and is now chasing the dream of stardom in Johannesburg.

Khulu is a brand architect at DNA Brands, an avid fashion lover and a ‘food whisperer’ by her own appointment. She is a qualified journalist and owes her knack for communicating to her mother who always encouraged her to stay expressive and to never let a thought go to waste.

“I am a creative thinker and everything I thought was out of reach was out of reach because I didn’t put my hand out. I’m leading with the only thing I knew would not change from birth which is my name. In everything I do, I’m letting the sunshine in and am just chasing my own light,” she said.

Khulu is representing South Africa and is competing against two others finalists, namely Mpiwa Bagwasi from Botswana and David Mbeha from Namibia.

“The competition has been so amazing, quite the learning experience with the level of coaching we were offered and the veterans that ran with the programme were so professional. We are so fortunate to have had access to this sort of guidance,” she expressed.

“If I win, I will have the tools to be more polished and professionally prepared to merge who I authentically am to the requirements of such a great opportunity. The biggest female lifestyle channel believes in an African footprint so much that they ran this competition, so I’ll definitely lead this opportunity proudly.”

The winner will receive an opportunity to become the host of TLC TOP 10, which is a brand new series coming to TLC Entertainment (DStv 172) among other prizes.
