ROSEBANK – A special screening of the new motion picture, Everest, was hosted at Ster-Kinekor at The Zone in Rosebank on 21 October in order to raise funds for the Field of Dreams Children’s Centre near Hartebeespoort.

The founder of Field of Dreams, Lee den Hond, was inspired to open the centre when she took the epic journey to Mount Everest herself in 2013.

More than R80 000 was raised for the centre during the event, which will go toward the centre’s construction which broke ground in May earlier this year and is set to finally open its doors on 5 December.

The centre’s priority focus is on early childhood development within the Schaumberg community and surrounds by providing disadvantaged children with a safe place to play and learn while implementing projects that will contribute to the improvement of life skills for both children and adults alike.
