Micasa launches new album
JOBURG - Mi Casa launched their new album Home Sweet Home to the media and captivated audiences with their new single titled Chocolate.
The night was full of dance and entertainment with the group performing tracks from their new album.
“Tonight has been great. The new album has some vibey tunes that will get people up and dancing,” said Boitumelo Mmakou, an attendee of the launch.
This is the band’s third studio album and it features some big names such as Cassper Nyovest, Big Nuz , DJ Tira, and East African group Sauti Sol. Hits include Hallo Baby, Chocolat and We on the night.
Before their captivating performance of their single Chocolat, band member J’Something joked that one might think the title of the song was referring to black women, but he said the band liked every variety of chocolate – caramel, milk chocolate, dark chocolate and white chocolate.
A fan, Ancillar Mangena, said her favourite song on the album had to be Chocolat. “Although J’Something said it’s not about their love for black women, the lyrical content of the track suggests otherwise.
“It’s a song that celebrates African beauty and, hopefully, will inspire many women to be proud of who they are and, most importantly, their complexion. I can’t wait for the rest of the world to hear the songs when the album drops,” she said.
Mi Casa also presented never-heard-before material that was recorded overseas during their whirlwind tour that took them to London, Italy, Portugal and Canada, and shared their experiences while they were overseas.
Their album will be available to the public on 23 October.
