Eish! Uys is back
FOURWAYS – Pieter-Dirk Uys’ smash hit show, An Audience with Pieter-Dirk Eish! will return to the stage once again thanks to public demand.
However, this time the show has a bit of a twist.
As the satirist extraordinaire prepares to turn 70, he is placing the power of his show squarely in Jozi audiences’ hands. Over the years, Uys has created over 80 different characters, from politicians and famous icons to cougars. In this show, he will lay out 15 mystery boxes on stage, with each one containing a different character.
The audience will choose which boxes to open, therefore picking which character Uys will slip into, making sure that no two shows are alike. This hilarious man will transform himself from the beloved Tannie Evita to her sister Bambi, from a Botha to Mama Winnie and more.
Not only does Uys have 35 one-man shows under his belt, but he’s also made about 7 000 appearances on stage.
“If 70 feels this good, I’m looking forward to the next 10-plus years on the stages and screens of South Africa!” he declared.
An Audience with Pieter-Dirk Eish! will run until 4 October at the Pieter Toerien’s Montecasino Theatre. Ticket prices range from R100 to R170.
