Jurassic World: The return of the dinosaurs
JOBURG - JUST when you thought you were through watching computer-generated dinosaur movies, director Colin Trevorrow brings out Jurassic World.
The movie blockbuster was released at South African cinemas on 12 June and stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard.
With Steven Spielberg, the original director of the Jurassic series of movies, in the background of the production, the thriller does not disappoint with its surreal dinosaur graphics. The creatures are bigger, better, faster and scarier than before.
However, if you’ve seen the 1997 Jurassic Park movie, the follow-up, The Lost World as well as the 2001 Jurassic Park 3 then don’t expect anything different or special with the storyline. The movie still has a pair of children who need to be rescued, and the park is still not secure enough to keep the dinosaurs contained.
Nonetheless, in Jurassic World the audience is introduced to a new highly intelligent dinosaur, the genetically engineered Indominus Rex, which breaks out of its enclosure and terrorises visitors at the theme park.
This is a fun and exciting movie for a family night out. It is filled with adventure and action.
