SAXONWOLD – Watch this space film fans … The Majestic Historic Film Society will be presenting The Gathering Storm on 24 May.

Before the screening, the film will be introduced by Radio Today presenter and film commentator Selwyn Klass, and guests will be treated to an English tea.

And then the magic happens … The Gathering Storm is set in the 1930s, when Winston Churchill was working as an MP. His was a lonely voice warning about the Germans and the coming of a second major war, but he did have a close-knit group of supporters.

However, his views cause him to be labelled a warmonger and he is more often than not shouted down in parliament. However, he gets his hands on valuable information from a foreign office civil servant and gives the figures to parliament, causing the tides to turn.

Catch the magic on 24 May, 2.30 for 3pm at the Ditsong Museum of Military History, Saxonwold. Bookings are essential.
