Robin Schulz rocks SA

JOBURG - The electro-dance music (EDM) concert of the year (so far), featuring Robin Schulz, was the perfect combination of light and sound.

The Sound of Light concert, with headliner and international EDM act Robin Schulz, was held at the Nasrec Expo Centre on 9 May.

It was a wonderland of heart-pounding bass drops and mind-numbing lazer lights that was nothing, but enjoyable for EDM fans.

The attendees of the event were not disappointed by the line-up acts, who delivered deep house favourites with a mix of EDM.

The line-up acts included Vin Desyel, Household Funk, Pascal and Pearce and Goodluck.

Fans were treated to a bring-down-the-house performance by Goodluck, who spared no effort in delivering an upbeat and high energy set.

Robin Schulz, as the headlining act for the event, played a one-and-a-half hour set that had the crowds at Nasrec abandoning bars and food stalls, and rushing to the front of the dance floor to feel the bass pulsing through their bodies.

With the theme of the incredible three-date-three-city-tour being sound and lights, fans were encouraged to bring or buy and don the very best in neon and light-up clothing.

The aim of the tour was to show the lovers of EDM what music really looks like in the form of electric lights pulsating through the arena.

The acts that followed Robin Schulz were the electric Ricardo da Costa, deep house act, Ryan Murgatroyd and Kyle Cassim.

Fans came from far and wide to attend the concert that really was an explosion of great sound and epic light.

The event, which only ended around 3am, moved swiftly on to the next tour date at Shimmy Beach in Cape Town – thus bringing an end to a sensory experience like no other.
