South African rock band releases second craft beer

JOBURG - AFTER the success of the release of their first craft beer, Fokofpolisiekar is at it again.

The renowned South African rock band, Fokofpolisiekar has just launched its latest craft beer offering, Antibiotika Indian Pale Ale (IPA).

The newest of their craft beers is described by the band’s drummer, Jaco ‘Snakehead’ Venter as a hoppy beer, dark-gold in colour, bitter due to the amount of hops used, and bubbly.

The beer also has tones of tropical fruit, grapefruit, raisins and spice flavours, making it very refreshing.

Their first craft beer, in what will be a series, was Dagdronk Blonde Ale and it was so successful that it completely sold out at one point which prompted the release of IPA.

It seems that the partnership between the people at Sir Thomas Brewery and Fokofpolisiekar was meant to be – what with the band members being avid beer drinkers and the brewers being die-hard lovers of rock and roll.

The official launch of the beer takes place in two parts. The first release is on 20 March at Rumours Lounge in Roodepoort, with the second leg of the launch at the Atterbury Teatre in Pretoria.
