1st Project celebrates 15 years

RIVONIA – South Africa's sexiest – and shirtless – drummers celebrated 15 years of musical success along with their closest friends and family.

1st Project gave back to their loyal fans and friends by serving them with an all-out performance in commemoration of their 15 years as a group, along with past and present members.

The event which took place at Roomfive in Rivonia was opened with the sounds of Reactagirl, who played a very unconventional and captivating DJ set for the guests.

The following act was none other than Drum Machine, playing his set on a one-of-a-kind electrical drum set up.

Close friends of 1st Project and fellow instrumentalists, The Muses, took to the stage before 1st Project’s performance to perform some of their new music from Pop On Strings 3.

Founding member of the group, Shannon Ellinas made sure to thank all the people who had been with them through the years.

“Thank you so much to every single person in this audience,” he said. “We would not be here today if it were not for you guys.”

A fan of the band, Lurissa Oosthuyse sang the bands praises. “After meeting them tonight it was so good to see that they’re so humble, and for men who look like they do, you don’t often find that they’re such genuinely nice people,” she said.

The performers of the evening brought down the house when they united to perform a finale which included the drums and the string instrumentalists.
