Trevor Noah joins ‘The Daily Show’ with Jon Stewart
JOBURG - SA comedian Trevor Noah is to join Jon Stewart and “The Best F*&#ing News Team Ever!” as part of the cast of the satirical news show, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.
Noah who will join the cast from December.
Tweeting to his fans, Trevor Noah said, “Thank you so much for all your love and support. Being part of The Daily Show with Jon Stewart is such an honour. I can’t wait to start.”
No stranger to TV, Noah has hosted numerous TV shows in his career, including Comedy Central Roast of Kenny Kunene, two seasons of his own late night talk show, Tonight with Trevor Noah, the South African Film and Television Awards, the South African Music Awards and the South African Comedy Festival.
Noah’s international TV debut came when he appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and he has since appeared on Late Show with David Letterman, becoming the first South African stand-up comedian to appear on both late night shows.
His Showtime comedy special, Trevor Noah: African American, premiered in 2013 and he also presented his one man show The Racist at the 2012 Edinburgh Fringe in a sold-out run that became the buzz of audiences and journalists.
The same year was the subject of David Paul Meyer’s award-winning documentary film “You Laugh But It’s True”, which tells the story of Noah’s remarkable career.
Noah continues to tour all over the world and has performed in front of sold-out crowds at the Hammersmith Apollo in London and the Sydney Opera House in Australia.
Noah was also nominated for Personality of the Year at the 2014 MTV Africa Music Awards and is currently featured on the cover of GQ South Africa.
The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” airs on Comedy Central DStv Channel 122 from Tuesday to Friday at 11:50pm CAT.
