Showbiz legend brought to life

ILLOVO - Liberace concert biography comes to Illovo.

Get ready to be dazzled by Jonathan Roxmouth as he tells the story of show business icon and popular pianist, Liberace, on stage.

The concert biography Call Me Lee will play in June at Beefcakes Joburg.

“Following the success of A Handful of Keys, The Phantom of the Opera and Sunset Boulevard, Roxmouth [will pay] tribute to Mr Showmanship, Liberace – Lee to his friends,” said Beefcakes manager Jono Lawson.

Roxmouth will trace the journey of the man who became Liberace through the well-known classics that made him a show business icon for more than 40 years.

“Everything from the Boogie Woogie to the Beer Barrel Polka, Tchaikovsky to Chopin, and nostalgic hits like I’ll Be Seeing You and I’m Always Chasing Rainbows make up a selection of music that guarantees something for everyone,” said Lawson.

The show, directed by Ian von Memerty and with lighting by Denis Hutchinson, features lavish glittering costumes by award-winning designer Lena Olivier.

Call Me Lee will play every Monday night in June at Beefcakes Joburg, Illovo Mews, 198 Oxford Road, Illovo, at 7pm.
