Upcoming shows at the Joburg Theatre

Stars such as Rebecca Malope, Gloria Bosman and Ntokozo Mbambo will be taking Easter to another level next month at the Joburg Theatre.

The singers will take part in a classic re-telling of the Easter story in Daughters of the King: An Easter Gospel Music Extravaganza using live music, drama and dance. The show will run from 17 March to 21 March.

Also to be featured is Copelia, a well-known ballet show that tells the story of a toymaker who believes he has brought a mechanical doll to life. The show will run from 14-23 March.

Fans of the rock band, Queen, will be happy to know that Sean Bovim’s Queen At The Ballet will be playing at the theatre from March to April. The show will utilise dance to take audiences on a journey capturing Freddie Mercury’s fascinating life. The show will run from 26 March to 13 April.

Illusionist Ilan Smith will also be bringing his show to the theatre on 27 March. The show follows hot on the heels of his last show and offers revelers a magical show that will see Smith thrill with new illusions. The show will run till 6 April.

In May Tim Plewman’s enticing play, The last moustache will be showcased at the theatre. Plewman plays a hapless men forced at gunpoint to be Hitler’s double. The show will run from 18 June to 5 July.
