The trio will perform at the Wits Theatre on 9 March.
The ensemble’s sound is based on a strong confluence of the traditional South Indian classical art form fused with Spanish motifs and other world percussions.
The sound is founded on the joyous feet-tapping rhythm motifs of Spanish-flamenco guitars fused with the exciting polyrhythmics of South India and the melodic intricacies of raga.
The Indian meeting of Afro-Latin rhythm is channelled through improvisational forms.
For the first time on a South African stage, three artists of this particular calibre present a new sound to our local audiences combining the unique sounds of an electric mandolin, a nylon guitarist on flamenco sounds, and a percussionist of note.
Free parking is available in Senate House; the entrance is on Jorissen Street, Braamfontein.
