Gallery welcomes newest edition

PARKHURST - A well-known gallery exhibiting young artists has a vibrant a new manager.

The Art Investments Gallery at 7 on Quinn in Parkhurst welcomed Thobi Zulu as new gallery manager from February 1, 2014.

Zulu expressed her delight at joining the gallery which she believes is an inspirational place for young artists.

“I look forward to introducing the many aspects of this gallery… available to local art lovers,” she said.

“I am humbled to be working with these great young artists and their mentors, and I believe the gallery is an ideal venue for locals and visitors to gather and share their appreciation for the fine, yet affordable, things in life – especially art.”

Zulu emphasised her joy at the support of Advanced Capital who, she said, realised the need for great South African artists to be mentored and promoted.

She believes that this opportunity would enable them to live sustainable lives through their unique craft, thereby avoiding the tragic Van Gogh syndrome of becoming famous when it was too late.

Her diverse background as an executive assistant, advertising executive, event and hospitality manager and an avid supporter of the arts and jazz should provide her with the right tools to attract new visitors and genres to the gallery.
